Join us online for a visit from Karen Thurlow of New Moon Apiaries!
Karen is a Master Beekeeper and Master Gardener who previously operated New Moon Apiaries in Yarmouth. Now residing in the picturesque province of New Brunswick, Canada, she brings with her a wealth of knowledge garnered since she began her beekeeping journey in 1978.
After moving to Maine, Karen expanded her apiary to encompass over 100 productive colonies, specializing in various facets of beekeeping, including queen raising, nucleus colony production, and the sales of package bees and honey. Not only does she share her expertise through teaching management classes and disease studies, but she also collaborates as a consultant with fellow beekeepers and organizations across North America.
Currently serving as the Chief Apiary Inspector for New Brunswick, Karen continues her passion with a small apiary located along the stunning Chaleur Bay in Northwestern New Brunswick, where she remains committed to nurturing healthy bees and empowering other beekeepers with her insights.
