I just took a look at the Basswood or American Linden a short distance from my home apiary and they are getting ready to bloom. In the John H. Lovell book, "Honey Plants of North America", published in 1926, he wrote that Basswood, although not a consistent producer, in a good year, produces more nectar faster than any other plant. So, let's be prepared, make sure the queen has some room to lay eggs downstairs and give the foragers a place to ripen some clear Basswood nectar upstairs. Do you have Basswood nearby and what kind of space do you have for a possible fast and furious flow? Brice
